The Story of The Copper Key Catering & Events

The Copper Key Catering & Events is led by our co-founders: Michelin-trained Chef Guus Wickenhagen and our Chief Innovator, Michael Duddie.  Michael first met Chef Wickenhagen on a trip to the Netherlands in 2009, where they formed their lasting friendship.  From there, they started their first catering company that led to the rise of The Copper Key.  Michael’s core philosophy on Food & Beverage Service is intense preparation and relentless scrutiny of the details.

From his start as a teenager to his apprenticeship in the elite, Michelin Star kitchen of De Hoop Op d’Swarte Walvis of Zaandam in The Netherlands, Chef Wickenhagen’s passion for cooking only got hotter.

With an eye for global cuisine and a taste for travel, Chef Wickenhagen joined Supperclub in Amsterdam, where he quickly rose to Executive Chef and cemented the restaurant’s reputation for innovative menus.

These are the smallest types of gatherings and can include up to 100 people, and can include employee luncheons, board meetings, company picnics, training sessions, and other small, intimate functions. We excel at providing the right corporate lunch catering to brighten every attendee’s day.

Small Events

Small events are those with 101-250 attendees, including seminars, regional meetings, and departmental conferences. They can involve work lunch catering, break-out sessions, audio-visual facilities, guest speakers, little beverage breaks, and more.

Mid-Size Corporate Events

Mid-size events are expected to have 251-1,000 delegates in attendance. These can include leadership summits, company-wide conferences, and other functions on a larger scale than micro and small events.

Mid-size events usually rely more heavily on larger catering needs for work lunches, dinners, post-gathering receptions, and more.

Large-Scale Events

These include multi-day corporate affairs that require several different meals, dinners, activities, luncheons, brunches, breakfasts, and more. Large-scale events are those that will accommodate over 1,000 attendees, and the most common are business conventions.
